It’s been too long. Too long since I sat down and wrote. Too long since I gave the people what they want, more delicious recipes.

Life is a book made up of chapters, some short, some long, but you don’t know much about the chapter you’re in till it’s over. A new chapter began and the main implication for cocktails is now I have my own apartment with a smaller amount of liquor and cocktail supplies.

Yet, there is something fun and enjoyable about being limited. There is an air of resourcefulness that must be developed as well as creativity. With the summer in full-effect I’ve jumped into the world of gin. A spirit I used to think almost had a pine like taste, but I’ve really begun to love. Now since this is the first blog back, I must learn to crawl again before I can begin to run. To start things simply let us combine three great ingredients – gin, seltzer water, and freshly squeezed lime juice. The result is surprisingly tasty and guess what it is called? Gin and soda? Wrong! A Gin Rickey which is a significantly more fun name. Let’s all stay thirsty and give this recipe a try.

As a side note on the gin, I got this fun bottle of Rhubarb flavored gin down in Kentucky at a distillery. If you ever have the opportunity to go on a liquor trip with your boys, or girls, or a combination of both I’d 10/10 recommend. What could be better then taking a few days off work, going to the places that provide liquid happiness, and enjoying that happiness over the course of the day all with great people.
